Hi there, I'm Liam
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Ottawa, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn't planned for the long haul. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new routines, higher expectations. Daily chores seemed more tangled than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found spots that worked for us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Created Oak Current Bloom
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guides or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance from real life in Canada.
